Slow Pocket Advance After Inspection - TM50

Slow Pocket Advance After Inspection - TM50

This is an advisory note, for any TM50 owners that have vision system attached to the system that are experiencing slow throughput when inspecting.

The information provided is generic, as various vision systems can be utilised, so please consult the user manual for your TM50 and the relevant vision system documentation.

Issue

During taping jobs, the time between pocket advances seems to be too long typically over a couple of seconds or more, this has an impact on slowing down production.

Cause

The vision systems software settings are set to store job and part information on an external location, such as a companies server.  The impact can vary depending on the server type and typically are a result of a slow network and/or disc writing speed.

Expectation

When a part is inspected, the TM50 waits for a pass signal from the vision system before advancing the pocket.  The inspection process takes a fraction of a second, so pocket advance should be very quick.

Reality

As a result of the data writing, inspection takes place but there is a delay in processing and saving the data to the network.

Remedy

Disable writing of inspection data or set to a local disc folder, which can be shared to the network.
