TM50 Does Not Advance

TM50 Does Not Advance

Scenario

We installed one of the vision kits and it is detecting components correctly as it shows green for good orientation and red for wrong orientation, but we have a problem because the TM50 is not advancing the tape and or showing any error in the display of the TM50 controller.

If we just turn off vision in the TM50 then it works correctly again.

Solution

There are a couple of things to check to resolve this.

  • Trigger
  • Output Assignments.

Trigger

For single camera systems, the trigger MUST be set to External, so the TM50 controls this.
On a dual camera system, the Pocket Inspection MUST be set to External and Seal Inspection set to Internal.

Output Assignments

For single camera systems, the Pocket Inspection should be set so that Output 2 is Busy and Output 3 is TotalStatusNG.
On a dual camera system, the Pocket Inspection is as above, whilst the Seal Inspection should have Output 2 set to off and Output 3 set to TotalStatusNG.
